BrightSpec nominated as a finalist for 2014 CBIC Breakthrough Award

April 2014 – The Charlottesville Business Innovation Council (CBIC) today announced the finalists for the CBIC Awards honoring central Virginia innovators. The public is invited to select the winner of the People’s Choice Navigator Award, which each year recognizes the area’s top leaders and guides advancing our region’s tech and innovation ecosystem.

The CBIC Awards recognize innovators for rapid development (Rocket Award), generating attention (Spotlight Award), major innovative leaps (Breakthrough Award), local impact (Community Award), volunteerism (Leadership Award), and the best tech teacher (Red Apple Award). For CBIC’s People’s Choice Navigator Award, the public is invited to choose from among three finalists, who all have demonstrated significant leadership in shaping the local tech and innovation business community.

A list of the finalists is below. Award recipients will be announced live at the 2014 CBIC Awards Gala on Thursday, May 29, at Farmington Country Club. With a theme of “The Magic of Innovation,” CBIC will host local business, government, and education leaders in a magical evening of entertainment.
